How to apply for Assistance

All Medical Practitioners (who are, or have been on the Principal List of the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom) and/or their dependants are welcome to apply for financial assistance. This assistance may take the form of pensions for practitioners, their widows, widowers, civil partners and their dependants, including Nursing Home fees and general support.

In addition, the RMF may arrange the admittance of dependants of medical practitioners to Epsom College as Foundation Scholars, or in other schools, when their parents are unable to fund continuity at a crucial time, or when the child has special needs.

•  A comprehensive application form has been compiled and must be completed by all potential beneficiaries. Referees and supporting documentation will be requested.

•  Once referees have been contacted, the RMF Caseworker will make a home visit to explore the different options available to the applicant and to discuss the way forward.

•  Those cases which satisfy the eligibility criteria are then submitted to the Committee for evaluation. The RMF Conjoint Committee meets four times a year in order to take decisions on all applications.

The next meeting of the RMF Conjoint Committee takes place in early October 2009. To be considered at this meeting, applications and all supporting documentation must be returned to the RMF office by 21 August 2009.
